austin, texas company retreat

graphic designer, illustrator, website designer

a collection of custom designed merchandise for a company-wide retreat in austin, texas.

i was the sole illustrator and graphic designer working on this texas themed project. the client had requested a fun, unique design for this event that would encourage recipients to wear and use their gifts outside of just the event. this client has an nda with brilliant, and therefore their information cannot legally be shared.

my first priority on this project was to create a pattern that was cross-functional, acting as the base for packaging, full-color products, apparel, and web graphics. i wanted to rely on only two colors, maroon and orange, to give a two-tone feel throughout the products. the most time-consuming aspect of this product was simply creating the illustration. i wanted to tie in texas-related items (of course), but also adding additional elements like stars and sparkles, greenery, and type to make it feel more cohesive. i also created a few color combinations of the final illustration to allow for mixing-and-matching within the packaging and products—which creates a more diverse, yet cohesive kit.

the work included: graphic design, illustration, packaging design, web design, & final mock-ups
