a social media account created to unite the community during the covid-19 pandemic.
during the covid-19 pandemic, i was given a task of working on a collaborative project that involved the community in some way. my team members and i decided to create an instagram account that provided communication, education, conversation, and perspective during these difficult times. since the country was on lockdown and everyone was interacting virtually, we felt a social media account would be a good way to communicate with our audience, while adding positivity to the redundant loop of scrolling through your instagram feed.
the hardest part of this project was finding the right direction for our collaborative project to go in. my team members only communicated via zoom and text messages, which was a learning curve in the beginning. once we were able to set up guidelines for the project, create templates for content, brainstorm, and create schedules for future posts, the project was smooth sailing. ultimately, this project was a great learning opportunity on how to collaborate with others and how to work both individually and collectively while being virtual. helping the community to cope, communicate with others, and find joy in the small things was a great opportunity.
the work included: graphic design, logo creation, illustrations and social assets, copy for social posts, and animation videos.
note: this was a collaborative project with four other designers at vcuarts.
