super bowl party box

a high end direct mailer sent to thousands of agents nationwide to collectively celebrate the super bowl and the launch of homes.com’s biggest marketing campaign. oh, and don’t forget the football-inspired snacks.

this direct mailer was sent to thousands of agents across the united states right before the 2024 super bowl, announcing the launch of homes.com’s biggest marketing campaign in real estate. this project was a well-rounded campaign, so it consisted of several deliverables, including the actual party box mailer, apparel and merchandise, digital ads, emails, animation videos for social media, and other social assets.

the inspiration for this party box stemmed from the original “snack box” that I had created several months prior for homes.com’s 100 million unique visitor’s celebration. i, and others on the marketing team, felt that doing another similar high-end sharable box would be a show stopper. plus, it just made sense to curate a kit that was full of football party essentials for the big game, so that’s exactly what we did.

this project had immense time restraints as it was a last minute addition. due to that, the most challenging part of this project was the concepting and ideation stage due to inventory and planning concerns. essentially, we had to select and curate a number of food and merchandise items while ensuring they would fit in a pre-determined box size to prevent printing delays. although this required some trial and error, it was a fun challenge to face. it required a lot of collaboration and communication with our internal team, as well as with the outside vendors we were working with to figure out what would and wouldn’t fit inside the box. the design portion of this project allowed me to think outside the box and explore new branding possibilities. i decided to design the outside of the party box in darker, contrasting colors in order to really highlight the brand’s logo and message. i also felt that this imagery and color scheme created a sense of anticipation and hype for the super bowl. in contrast, on the inside i reverted back to homes.com’s general branding colors, using mainly orange and white. my thought process behind doing this was to create a direct mailer that felt bold, outside the box, and exciting when viewing the outside—then when viewing the inside, you feel instantly connected and reminded to the brand you know and love, while still feel clean and innovative.

contents in party box include: custom football cutting board, homes-branded jersey, video player, bottle opener, foam finger, pretzels, crackers, two types of jam, salame, and football-shaped chocolates

the work included: graphic design, print design, packaging design, social & digital assets, animation, & final mock-ups

note: this project was produced at homes.com, and is the sole property of homes.com.
