homes super bowl varsity jacket
graphic designer, apparel designer
a limited edition varsity jacket worn by dan levy in the 2024 homes.com super bowl commercial.
originally, i was tasked with creating a gift for the selected individuals who would attending the 2024 super bowl in the homes.com suites. i came up with several concepts, some of which went on the be used. however, my concept of creating an exclusive, wearable gift in the form of a varsity jacket proved to be favorited enough that it pivoted into a new, separate project. soon enough, it was determined that the jacket would be featured in one of the homes.com commercials and worn by dan levy. internal stakeholders also determined that it would go on to be a 3,000 piece limited edition collection—a gift for anyone who had been a part of the monumental project of working on homes.com over the last year.
this project was both exciting, challenging, and ultimately, a pivotal moment in my career. not only was i able to see this project from start to finish, i also was the lead designer and main communicator with all outside vendors over the course of several months. i was able to design a custom varsity jacket, tailoring the materials, stripe widths, accent colors, interior lining, and many other small details. during the design and production stages, i was focused on creating a clean, branded, comfortable, and slightly edgy jacket. i was pushed to factor in budgets, tight timelines, and organize a multitude of shipments coming from various cities.
best of all, i got to help unpack and hand out the jackets to the homes.com team members. it’s rare for a designer to see first-hand the end-user’s reaction to their design, so to be able to witness that is something i really appreciated. it was incredible to see my design concept become a real, living breathing thing that existed out in the world, worn by dan levy on national tv and by thousands of my co-workers and peers around me.
the work included: graphic design, apparel design, social assets.
note: this project was produced at homes.com, and is the sole property of homes.com.
